    The Third Cemetery was part of the Quarantine Station, and it was established out of the water catchment for the Q station, because people feared the "poisonous juices" from dead bodies. This was rubbish, of course, but people dying of cholera, bubonic plague and influenza found lovely resting places there. On the first Wednesday morning of most months, a small group of volunteers gather there to carry out erosion control and weed management. They can show you the hidden gems, like the flying duck orchids in spring, and a lot more.
